PROJECT DELIVERY

Design Bid Build

The traditional route, done right, a competitive, spec-compliant bid and disciplined execution of the engineer's design.

Site electrical construction on a Ritch Electric bid project

A clean bid and a disciplined build

Design bid build is the traditional public and commercial delivery method: the owner's engineer produces the plans and specifications, contractors bid them competitively, and the work is awarded on price and qualification. Ritch Electric has been bidding and building spec work across Georgia and Alabama for over five decades.

A low bid only helps you if the contractor finishes the job to spec. We bid what the documents say, and we build what we bid.

Good design bid build work is won on the takeoff and delivered on the paperwork: accurate quantities at bid time, clean RFIs and submittals during construction, and closeout documents the owner's engineer can approve without a second pass. That back-office discipline is the same one our federal work has demanded for decades.

Why choose Ritch Electric for your bid work:

Accurate takeoffs: bids built from the documents, priced to be held, not revised after award
Spec compliance: materials, methods, and testing per the contract documents, verified and documented
Clean paperwork: RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and closeout handled by a practiced back office
Public-work fluency: Davis-Bacon payroll, bonding, and prevailing-wage compliance as standard practice

We bid as prime electrical contractor and as an electrical subcontractor to general contractors, on public, institutional, and commercial work. Plans and specs are accepted by email, PDF, DWG, or a link to your plan room.

Our proven process:

Bid & takeoff: quantities, scope gaps, and alternates identified from the contract documents
Submittals & coordination: equipment approved and schedules coordinated before mobilization
Construction: the design built to spec, with RFIs raised early and answered on the record
Inspection & closeout: testing, punch list, as-builts, and warranties delivered for final acceptance

Do you bid as a prime contractor or a subcontractor?
Both. We bid public and commercial work as prime electrical contractor, and we bid the electrical scope as a subcontractor to general contractors. Either way, the takeoff discipline and the paperwork are the same.
Are your electricians licensed and insured?
Yes. Ritch Electric is fully licensed and insured, holding electrical contractor licenses in both Georgia and Alabama, and all work is performed under the owner's license. Every electrician is fully trained through the IEC (Independent Electrical Contractors) apprenticeship-to-journeyman program, holds a journeyman electrician card, and is trained in OSHA, arc flash, confined space, and first aid/CPR, backed by $2M single / $10M aggregate bonding.
Do you handle government and military projects?
That's our specialty: 1,500+ DoD projects at Fort Benning, EM-385 safety compliance, Davis-Bacon payroll reporting, and full base access. SAM.gov active: UEI NQBFJML4BNK7, CAGE 0M006.
